Rainbow Plantation Memorial Garden

This page is dedicated to those Rainbow Plantation Residents who have passed over beyond their life's journeys.  The Rainbow Plantation Memorial Gardens is accepted in the community as a sacred, memorial space used to remember our deceased loved ones.  Memorial bricks are purchased and engraved with members names and placed in concentric sidewalks leading to the center of the garden.  When a member passes, their brick is moved to the center surrounding the sculpture.  In the past, some have scattered a small amount of ashes in the RP Memorial Garden. This sacred ground has been used for memorial services as recently as March 2025.

The Rainbow Plantations Memorial Garden is maintained by residents living in the community.  It fall under the Alabama Burial Law (Code of Alabama 1975, 13A-7-23.I, as amended; see also Administrative Code, Chapter 460-X-10.01) which protects cemeteries, graves, tombs, monuments, memorials of the dead in Alabama regardless of the age of the site.

If you are interested in purchasing a Memorial Brick, please download and print this form  MEMORIAL GARDEN BRICK ORDER FORM.  Return the completed form with your payment to Ruth Snashall.

Remembering
Each year on Memorial Day, we read the names of those who have passed at a community event.  This has been done for many years and continues to hold this community together.

The RPR Community thanks Rod Getsy for his many years of maintaining the Memorial Garden. We also thank Authena Wade for donating her time to paint our entrances and benches.
